Rogue Festival 2025: A Compendium of Unconventional Delights
Welcome one and all to the Rogue Festival 2025 happening from February 28 to March 8 in the rebellious heart of Fresno, CA! Gather around as we delve into the myriad of performances that await you in this year's anarchic lineup. From the stages of the Tower District, we bring you theatre, music, dance, and more that will challenge your senses and defy the norms of traditional art and entertainment.
Let us begin with You've Been Served, a one-woman show by noemi zeigler. You've been summoned to witness the darkly hilarious odyssey of a woman scorned, as she bares her soul in a journey of discovery, self-revelation, and redemption. After finding her husband in the arms of a homewrecker, she embarks on a wild adventure that sees her joining a cult, getting baptized, and even finding herself in jail. Don't miss this unforgettable performance on March 1, 2, 7, and 8 at Spectrum Art Gallery.
Next up is Emil Amok Guillermo, a journalist, former host of NPR's All Things Considered, and a storyteller extraordinaire. He returns with Emil Amok: 69, a comedic exploration of life in a 69 world, upside down and far from being mutually pleasurable. Catch Emil's insightful and entertaining monologues on February 28, March 1, March 2, March 6, and March 8 at the Lotus Room.
We dare you to forget Circumscribed, the autobiographical tale of Noam Osmand, a fringe performer and former recipient of a well-fertilized foreskin tree in his backyard. Delve into the world of Jewish ritual, family dynamics, and personal growth as Noam grapples with the decision of whether to circumcise his newborn son. Witness this powerful and personal story unfold at the Lotus Room on February 28, March 1, March 2, March 7, and March 8.
Last, but certainly not least, we have the return of Megill & Company Dances. Led by Beth Megill, this talented group of dancers performs a feel-good show that promises to bring smiles and have you grooving in your seat. Featuring a blend of theater, rhythm, and improvisation, this is the dance company for the everyman, including those who think they don't like dance but have yet to experience a MeCo show. Don't miss Megill & Company Dances at Dianna's Studio on March 7 or 8.
In addition to these incredible shows, be sure to check out Mysteryrat's Maze Podcast, featuring mysteries read by local actors, available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, Google Play, and podbean.
