On Thursday, May 8, from 11 a.m.-12 p.m. EDT, the Emmy Award-winning talk show "The View" will host former President Joe Biden and First Lady Dr. Jill Biden for an exclusive interview. This will mark the Bidens' first watch since leaving the White House in January 2025.
The interview will take place in the show's NYC studio, where the discussion will cover a range of topics, including life after the presidency, Biden's legacy, Democrats' election losses, and the current political landscape.
"The View" has a reputation for being the most important political TV show in America, according to The New York Times. The show made history in April 2010 by featuring a sitting vice president as a guest for the first time, with Vice President Biden as the guest.
Joe Biden has a history with "The View," having made four appearances during the Obama administration and one additional appearance on December 13, 2017. His first watch on the show was in September 2007, when he was a senator, and he made two additional appearances during his campaign, on February 13, 2020, and March 24, 2020. His first interview on "The View" after announcing his presidential run was on April 26, 2019, and his most recent visit was on September 25, 2024.
Interestingly, Biden has not had his own TV shows in the past, but he has been a frequent guest in various interviews and speeches as a politician and vice president. There are no public reports regarding any planned solo TV shows by Biden.
