A tragic incident occurred during Liverpool's title parade on Monday evening, as a vehicle plowed into a crowd of supporters on Water Street.

Police have confirmed that a 53-year-old man, hailing from West Derby, has been taken into custody, suspected of attempted murder, dangerous driving offenses, and being under the influence of drugs. The investigation is ongoing, and police have not ruled out further charges.

As a result of the incident, 50 individuals were hospitalized, with 11 remaining there in a stable condition as of the latest reports. Four people, including one child, were rescued from under the vehicle following the collision.

The driver is believed to have followed an ambulance through roadblocks before the unfortunate event took place. The car, a Ford Galaxy, sustained damage during the incident.

Health officials and emergency services are working tirelessly to treat the injured and provide support to those affected. Liverpool City Metro Mayor, Steve Rotheram, expressed his hopes for the speedy recovery of those seriously hurt.
