Live album and concert film to be released from Slash's performance at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival
Rock legend Slash has announced a new live album and concert film titled Slash: Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival. The highly-anticipated release will hit shelves on November 7.
The album, recorded and filmed in July 2024 at the Mission Ballroom in Denver, CO, is a return to Slash's roots in blues music. Slash, known for his work with Guns N' Roses and Velvet Revolver, has always had a deep affection for the blues, which he believes has always functioned as a release for people going through hard times.
Slash: Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival features a stellar lineup of songs, including covers of Fleetwood Mac's Peter Green-era classic Oh Well, Muddy Waters' Killing Floor, Howlin' Wolf's Born Under a Bad Sign, and Robert Johnson's Crossroads, among others. The tracklist also includes original tracks such as Intro, Parchman Farm Blues, Big Legged Woman, Key to the Highway, Papa Was a Rollin' Stone, Stormy Monday, The Pusher, Metal Chestnut, Stone Free, It Takes a Lot to Laugh, It Takes a Train to Cry, and Shake Your Money Maker.
Slash's band for the album and concert film consists of Slash on lead and rhythm guitar, Teddy “ZigZag” Andreadis on keyboards, harmonica, and vocals, Tash Neal on rhythm guitar and vocals, Johnny Griparic on bass and backing vocals, and Michael Jerome on drums.
The album has been mixed in PCM Stereo and DTS 5.1 audio and will be available on 2CD+DVD digipak, 2CD+Blu-ray digipak, and triple LP formats. Pre-orders for Slash: Live at the S.E.R.P.E.N.T. Festival are available now.
In addition to the live performances, the concert film will also feature behind-the-scenes interviews, offering fans a unique insight into the making of the album. The live album is part of Slash's S.E.R.P.E.N.T. (Solidarity, Engagement, Restore, Peace, Equality N' Tolerance) blues tour.
Slash believes that a lot of people are having a hard time these days and hopes that this album will serve as a source of comfort and inspiration.
