NATURE ONE Festival Kicks Off at Former Rocket Base in Germany

The NATURE ONE festival, a three-day celebration of techno music, is currently underway at the former Pydna missile base in Kastellaun, Germany. The festival, which started on Friday, is expected to attract around 40,000 people by tonight, with an additional 20,000 expected over the weekend.

The festival-goers primarily camp at the extensive CampingVillage on the festival site, starting from Wednesday before the main festival days. The camping area, spanning over 150 football fields, is described as a lively, self-contained community where people party, arrive, and relax.

For those seeking a more comfortable camping experience, festival organizers offer an EasyCamp accommodation option. Attendees can rent airbeds, camping chairs, and other comfort upgrades for an additional per-person, per-night fee. To camp, each person needs to purchase a CampingVillage ticket in addition to their event ticket.

The festival provides several facilities to cater to the needs of its attendees. Barrier-free toilets every couple of stations across the camping area, including free water-flushed toilets near the DRK tent for people with limited mobility, are available. These toilets are generally locked but can be accessed with euro handicapped locks that can be borrowed at the info point with ID.

Music has been playing on some camping stages since Wednesday, with around 350 DJs set to play on 20 floors by Sunday. Highlights include DJ Paul van Dyk's performance today and the DASDING livestream, which starts tonight and tomorrow. A livestream is available from 9 PM.

The weather for the festival is expected to be a mix of sun, clouds, and heavy showers. Festival-goers had to put on their rain gear last night due to showers and thunderstorms. However, bright sunshine is announced for the start of the festival.

Minister President Alexander Schweitzer also dropped by the Pydna, and around 40,000 techno fans are attending the festival. Imbiss owner Uwe Jakobs, who has been serving festival-goers for 30 years, is one of the many local businesses benefiting from the event.

Final preparations are in progress at the former rocket base Pydna. The arrival of fans to the NATURE ONE festival has been running smoothly so far, and the newly arriving techno fans are behaving appropriately, according to the police. Farmer Charly Vollrath has made his fields available for parking for 30 years.

The NATURE ONE exhibition is open at the city museum in Kastellaun, and admission is free with a festival ticket. Not just professionals are involved in the festival; DIY stages are a hit. The German Red Cross has counted approximately 400 patients by Friday afternoon, with around 300 patients having been treated since Wednesday. One resuscitation case was reported among the injuries.

The DASDING Opening Party took place last night, with 10,000 fans in attendance. The second day of the festival was wild and full of energy, setting the tone for the rest of the weekend. The festival promises to be a highlight for all ravers.

Despite a temporary technical problem in the ticket shop making online bus tickets unavailable, the gates of the former rocket base Pydna are now open, and the party is just getting started.
