Union's Livan Burcu is called like rapper Haftbefehl - Livan Burcu’s rap-fueled return energizes Union Berlin’s dressing room

Union Berlin forward Livan Burcu has earned a new nickname among his teammates. Known as 'Aykut', the moniker reflects his passion for rap and his Frankfurt roots. The 25-year-old recently returned to action after a long injury layoff, marking his first Bundesliga appearance since his comeback.

Burcu signed for Union Berlin in the summer of 2024 but was quickly sent on loan to 1. FC Magdeburg. His time away did little to dampen his musical connections—he remains in contact with Haftbefehl’s younger brother, a fellow rapper. Back in Berlin, his love for Frankfurt rap, German hip-hop, and French beats fills the dressing room before matches.

Burcu’s presence on and off the field brings a unique energy to Union Berlin. His musical tastes and strong ties to the rap scene have shaped his identity within the squad. Now fully fit, he looks to contribute more as the season progresses.
