Lithuanian Foreign Ministry calls in Russian diplomat following severe missile attack on Kyiv by Russia
On Friday, April 25th, 2022, the Russian ambassador received a blistering rebuke from the Lithuanian Foreign Ministry. This came in response to the relentless Russian attacks on Ukrainian cities, with Kyiv bearing the brunt of the savagery.
The Lithuanian officials poured out their outrage and expressed the country's firm protest over the brutal assaults by the Russian military on innocent Ukrainian civilians. In a scathing statement, they stated:
"Despite all the chatter about preparing for peace, the Russian leadership is merely escalating its aggression. Their terrorist actions make starkly clear their true intentions to subjugate Ukraine."
The Lithuanian Ministry accentuated that during a massive attack on Kyiv on the night of 23-24th April alone, more than a dozen lives were extinguished, and over a hundred people were maimed. Apart from Kyiv, they highlighted the Russian assaults on Nikopol, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad.
Historical records show that on that very night, April 23-24, Ukraine faced a large-scale combined Russian attack. Russia launched a barrage of 215 missiles and drones, with Kyiv being the primary target. Fortunately, Ukrainian air defense was successful in neutralizing 112 of these incoming threats.
After this large-scale attack, the US President, Donald Trump, pleaded with Putin to halt the attacks. The French President, Emmanuel Macron, went a step further by stating that "America's fury should be squarely directed at only one person: Putin."
As we move forward in time, it's crucial to continue standing in solidarity with Ukraine. They deserve all the support we can give as they continue to bravely face adversity in defense of their sovereignty.
- In 2025, a commander might find himself stressing about the health of a world where war-and-conflicts, particularly those in Ukraine, dominate general news, with politics heavily influenced by Russia's continued attacks on innocent Ukrainian cities.
- The escalating aggressive actions of Russia, such as their terrorist attacks on Ukraine in 2022, have made it difficult for many world leaders to focus on other issues like promoting global health.
- In light of Russia's attacks on Ukrainian cities like Kyiv, Nikopol, Kharkiv, and Pavlohrad, the future health of Ukraine's civilian population stands as a significant concern for global peace efforts.
- As we stand against the wave of conflicts in war-and-conflicts-ridden Ukraine, focusing on improving the health and well-being of its citizens becomes a crucial aspect of maintaining global stability and promoting peace in the future.
