In a powerful display of solidarity, British musician Annie Lennox has released a reimagined version of her classic hit 'Why?' to support the "Together for Palestine" initiative. The concert, organised by Brian Eno, took place at the OVO Arena Wembley on September 17, 2022, and featured over 150 artists and cultural figures.

Lennox's new version of the song, originally shared in 1992 as part of her debut solo album 'Diva', was recorded to benefit the "Together for Palestine" Fund. In the new lyrics, Lennox describes the sound of drones and guns, and people running for their lives, raising awareness for the people in Gaza. The ending of the song has been replaced with new lyrics that echo the sentiments of the movement.

Notable figures such as Holocaust survivor Stephen Kapos, Damon Albarn, Paul Weller, Cat Burns, Rachel Chinouriri, Yasiin Bey, and Bastille's Dan Smith were among the performers at the concert. Eric Cantona, PinkPantheress, Richard Gere, Benedict Cumberbatch, Florence Pugh, and Nicola Coughlan were among the presenters.

Pugh declared that "silence in the face of such suffering is not neutrality" during her speech, while Gere encouraged people to "speak the truth with generosity and love". Coughlan urged other artists to speak up about the conflict, and Lennox has been actively raising awareness and support for the people in Palestine.

The concert was available as a livestream and raised just under £1.5million for the "Together for Palestine" Fund. The event also featured speeches by notable figures including the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese.

In October 2021, Lennox called for a ceasefire in a statement, joining a chorus of voices calling for an end to the ongoing conflict. The "Together for Palestine" concert was a testament to the power of music and solidarity in raising awareness and funds for those affected by the conflict.
