Annie Lennox, the renowned singer-songwriter, has shared a new version of her iconic song 'Why?' in support of the 'Together For Palestine' efforts. The concert, held at the OVO Arena Wembley on September 17, was organized by Brian Eno and featured over 150 artists and cultural figures, including Lennox herself.

The new rendition of 'Why?' includes powerful lyrics that aim to raise awareness for the people in Gaza. Lennox replaced the ending of the song with lines such as, "This is the sound of drones and guns, watch the people run run run. Shoot to kill them just for fun / Bodies falling one by one."

Nicola Coughlan, a star from the hit series Bridgerton, and Florence Pugh, a notable figure in the industry, were among those who encouraged other artists to speak up about the situation in Palestine. Stephen Kapos, a Holocaust survivor, also made a moving speech at the event, comparing the Palestinians' struggle for freedom to his own experience surviving the Holocaust.

The concert raised just under £1.5million for the 'Together For Palestine Fund'. The funds will be distributed to Palestinian-led organizations such as Taawon, Palestine Children's Relief Fund, and Palestine Medical Relief Service.

Lennox has been actively raising awareness and support for the people in Palestine. Last October, she called for a ceasefire in Palestine, and recently, she joined Dua Lipa, Riz Ahmed, Primal Scream, and Benedict Cumberbatch in responding to Prime Minister Keir Starmer's response to their open letter about ending UK complicity in Gaza.

The reimagined version of 'Why?' was first shared in 1992 as part of Lennox's debut solo album 'Diva'. However, this new version was recorded specifically for 'Together For Palestine'. The concert at the OVO Arena Wembley was also available as a livestream, allowing a wider audience to participate in the event and support the cause.

Stephen Kapos, in his speech, emphasized his commitment to the Palestinian people and their cause, stating, "Their struggle for freedom is my struggle. We must stand together and fight for justice."

Lennox's efforts for 'Together For Palestine' continue to make a significant impact, using her music as a platform to amplify the voices of those in need and raise funds for vital support services.
