The 2025 BET Awards sieved through the best in entertainment and one big-time performer stole the limelight by bagging multiple trophies!

The BET bash, a celebration of Black excellence, was held at the peacock den of L.A. Live – the Peacock Theatre. Kings of the hip-hop world, Kendrick Lamar shone particularly bright, bagging a whopping five awards, one of which we'll discuss further in a bit.

Now, the Main Event:

The Big Cheese: Kendrick Lamar, popularly known as King Kendrick or K.Dot, obsessively topped the charts this year, winning the prestigious Album of the Year, Video of the Year, Best Collaboration, Best Male Hip Hop Artist, and shared the Video Director of the Year award with his longtime collaborator Dave Free[1][2][4].

Lamar also shared the limelight with SZA in the collaborative track "Luther," which won Best Collaboration[1]. Tying Beyoncé for the most Album of the Year wins[2][4] in BET Awards history, Lamar caused quite the ruckus in the hip-hop world with his chart-topping "GNX" album.
