Lions understand that changes in Baltimore need to be substantial for a return to the city
The Detroit Lions are preparing for a challenging matchup against one of the league's top teams, the Baltimore Ravens. Aware that practice might not fully replicate the intensity of a live game, the Lions are determined to improve upon their previous performance against the Ravens.
In their last encounter, the Ravens dominated the Lions, with a score of 38-6. Derrick Henry, a powerful running back for the Ravens, will be a key player to watch in the upcoming game.
The Lions have had a remarkable run in the past two seasons, making it to the NFC championship game and clinching two NFC North titles. They won 27 games during this period, but their last victory against the Ravens was on Monday night, October 22, 2018.
Scottie Montgomery, the assistant head coach of the Lions, acknowledges the need for improvement. "We need to do better than we did in our previous encounter with the Ravens," he said.
The Lions struggled in their last game against the Ravens, running the ball three times for 11 yards and having Jared Goff sacked twice for 13 yards. Lamar Jackson, the Ravens' quarterback, on the other hand, had a stellar performance, going 21 for 27 for 357 yards and three touchdowns without taking a sack. He also ran for another 36 yards and a score.
In an effort to boost their offensive capabilities, the Lions have added Malik Cunningham, Louisville's former starting quarterback, to their practice squad. Cunningham, who led the Cardinals to three bowl games and passed for 2,941 yards and 19 touchdowns while running for 1,034 yards and 20 touchdowns in 2021, will be used by the Lions as both a quarterback and a receiver during practice.
The Lions are eager to turn the tables on the Ravens, who physically outperformed them in their previous encounter. The upcoming game promises to be a thrilling encounter, as the Lions strive to prove their mettle against one of the league's top teams.
