Lions defensive back Morice Norris discusses his recent fall, describing it as harrowing, but assures everyone that he's in good health.

In a shocking turn of events during the Detroit Lions' preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons, safety Morice Norris suffered a severe neck and head injury. The incident occurred in the fourth quarter, causing the game to be suspended.

Norris, a Detroit Lions undrafted free agent from the spring of 2024, was attempting a tackle on Falcons running back Nathan Carter when a violent collision between their bodies occurred. According to reports, Norris' facemask hit Carter's midsection, and Carter's thigh collided with Norris' head, causing his head to snap back in a hyperextended position. This brutal impact resulted in a seizure-like episode for Norris, who remained motionless on the field for nearly 20 minutes while medical personnel attended to him.

Referee Shawn Hochuli made the decision to suspend the game, and players from both teams gathered on the field for a moment of prayer. Norris was taken off the field in an ambulance and was later hospitalized in Atlanta. However, the Lions were quick to reassure fans that Norris was in stable condition and had feeling and movement in all his extremities.

The nature of the injury was so severe that Norris was kept at Atlanta's Grady Memorial Hospital overnight for observation. The Detroit Lions expressed their gratitude to the Atlanta Falcons organization, the EMS team at Mercedes-Benz Stadium, and the doctors and staff at Grady for their support during this difficult time.

Coach Dan Campbell confirmed that Norris was breathing and speaking after the incident. Norris himself took to social media to share a Bible verse and reassure fans that he is "all good." His followers showed an outpouring of love and concern, checking in on him during this challenging period.

As of now, the NFL.com has announced that the game was officially suspended at 9:35 PM ET, with 6:19 minutes remaining on the clock. The future of Norris' football career and his recovery process remain uncertain, but the Detroit Lions and their fans are hopeful for a speedy and full recovery for their valuable player.
