Linz fights to hold the top spot as league drama reaches its peak

The race for the top spots in the league is heating up as teams battle in the final stages of the regular season. With just two games remaining, Linz clings to a narrow lead, while dramatic comebacks and overtime thrillers keep fans on the edge of their seats.

Linz currently sits three points ahead of Ferencváros with only two matches left. The two sides will meet directly in Budapest this Friday, a game that could decide their final standings.

Elsewhere, Vienna Capitals 99ers mounted a stunning late recovery, scoring four times in the final period. Their comeback cut the gap to just one point behind the league leaders.

Salzburg also secured a crucial win in overtime against South Tyrol. Travis St. Denis netted the decider at 64 minutes after Cole Krygier (45.) and Austin Rueschhoff (2.) had levelled the score at 2-2.

Meanwhile, Klagenfurt AC dominated early in Graz, taking a two-goal lead through Simeon Schwinger (8.) and Joshua Teves (37.). The team looked set for a third consecutive shutout victory before the game shifted.

In another key match, VSV clinched their spot in the top ten in front of over 3,000 supporters. Nick Hutchison (9., 59.) and Joel Teasdale (38.) found the net to secure the vital points.

The final matches will determine which teams advance and which fall short. Linz's clash with Ferencváros on Friday could be decisive, while Vienna Capitals 99ers' late surge adds pressure at the top. With overtime wins and last-minute goals, the season's conclusion promises high drama.
