Linde Completes Major Modernization in Russia, Boosting Oil & Gas Component Production

Linde, a prominent industrial gases and engineering company, has concluded a substantial modernization project at its facilities in Moscow and Ishimbay. The total investment totaled 564 million rubles, with the Russia’s Industrial Development Fund (IDF) providing a subsidized loan of 449 million rubles.

The modernization endeavor introduced a hybrid technology that combines thermal spraying, laser cladding, and turning and mechanical machining. This innovative approach enables Linde to apply functional coatings to both new and repaired parts, increasing their durability by up to 2.5 times and reducing the cost of refurbished components by 1.5 to 2.5 times.

The upgraded facilities can now produce up to 2,000 hydraulic plungers annually, along with other components such as 350 hydraulic rods, 12,600 telemetry components, 3,500 bearings for screw downhole motors, and 400 parts for gas turbine engines. These components are in high demand from major Russian oilfield service providers and subsidiaries of major oil and gas companies. The coatings applied protect against corrosion and withstand high temperatures, further extending the lifespan of the components.

Linde's modernization project has significantly enhanced its production capabilities, benefiting both the company and its clients. The upgraded facilities are expected to contribute to the growth of the oil and gas industry in Russia, with potential clients including major Russian oilfield service providers and subsidiaries of major oil and gas companies.
