Lina Rupping snatches Vice-Championship title

Hailing as the top judoka from 1. JJJC Luenen, Lina Rupping showcased her prowess at the Westphalia Championship in the U 13 age group, held in Münsterland's Hörstel, and clinched an impressive second place in her newly adopted -40 kg weight class. Qualifying for the elite level in this age group with an impressive hat-trick of victories and the district title in the -36 kg class, she overstepped the weight limit, forcing her to compete in a heavier division. Nevertheless, Lina's talent from 1. JJJC Luenen refused to waver: In the initial round, she leaves her Iserlohn opponent with no chance, bagging a hold-down win following a brief scuffle. The second round was a pleasant battle. Her opponent from the host club Stella Bevergern even grabbed an early lead with a minor advantage (Yuko). But Lina demonstrated indomitable spirit, clawed back, and clinched another hold-down victory. The semis pitted her against another member from Stella Bevergern, whom she also subdued with a hold-down technique. In the final, Lina faced a notably larger and stronger competitor from Olsberg. However, Lina didn't back down, keeping up the fight until her opponent capitalized on her size advantage in a stalemate situation, defeating Lina with a throw. Since placing third at the West German Championship in the U 15 age group in the spring, Lina has notched another significant achievement with the Vice-Westphalia Title!
