Limited bathtub race slots available in Moers
The Bettenkamper Meer in Moers is gearing up for an exciting event on August 16th - the annual Moers Bathtub Race. This much-anticipated summer tradition brings together people of all ages and backgrounds for an afternoon of friendly competition, creativity, and camaraderie.
The race, which requires participants to have swimming abilities and a flair for original costumes, is open to 30 teams, with 30 starting places available. So far, teams like "The Fiberglass Snails" and "The Nasty Mussels" have registered.
Those interested in participating can secure a remaining place by emailing [email protected]. The event organisers, including Jan Priefert, co-organizer of the DLRG, are looking forward to the event.
After the race, participants and spectators are invited to an after-race party featuring DJ Altan, which begins at 6 pm and continues until 10 pm. Cold drinks and delicious snacks will be provided.
Attractive prizes are on offer for the fastest teams and the team with the most creative costumes. The team with the most beautiful costume will receive an invitation from Member of the German Bundestag Kerstin Radomski to travel to Berlin. The fastest paddlers will receive tickets to the Comedy Arts Festival.
The Moers Bathtub Race is not just about competition, it's also about community. It attracts numerous spectators and is expected to draw many visitors this year. In an effort to reduce traffic congestion, organisers are encouraging travel by bicycle.
