Light snow dusts Denver and Colorado’s Frontier this weekend
Light snow is set to arrive in Denver and along Colorado’s Frontier from Sunday evening into Monday morning. The weather shift will bring a brief dusting, with most areas expecting a thin covering before conditions clear by late morning.
A weak easterly upslope flow will trigger widespread light snow, particularly across the Denver metro area and nearby Frontier towns. Forecasters predict accumulations of half an inch to 1 inch in most spots, though steadier snowfall could push totals close to 2 inches in isolated areas. The flakes are expected to be large, helping snow build up quickly despite limited moisture in the air.
The snow will begin to ease around 8 a.m. on Monday, gradually moving south and exiting Colorado by about 11 a.m. Behind the system, colder air will settle in, keeping high temperatures below 40 degrees across much of the Frontier and Eastern Plains. After Monday’s snow, the weather pattern will shift again. Temperatures are forecast to climb back into the 40s and 50s from Tuesday through at least Thursday, with calmer conditions expected for the rest of the week.
The brief snowfall will leave a light covering before clearing by mid-morning on Monday. Colder air will linger for a day, but warmer and quieter weather is set to return by Tuesday. Most areas will see only minor disruptions from the passing system.
