This weekend, Saxony-Anhalt is bracing for light snow and chilly temperatures, as per the German Weather Service (DWD). Frigid mornings are in store, with frost particularly prevalent. South of the Börde, a light sprinkle of snow is forecasted in the morning, with clearing skies in the afternoon. Watch out for slippery spots due to icy rain, with highs hovering between -3°C and -1°C in Saxony-Anhalt, and even colder in the Harz Mountains, reaching -6°C to -3°C. As night falls on Saturday, the sky will be mostly cloudy with foggy patches in some areas, including Zeitz, where a light dusting of snow may occur. Temperatures will plummet to -4°C to -8°C.

The following day, Saturday, anticipate thickening cloud cover, leading to a mostly dry afternoon. Light snowfall from the northwest may grace us then, with temperatures dipping between -3°C and 0°C. Cloud cover will persist throughout the night, with intermittent light snowfall. Temperatures will nosedive to between -3°C and -6°C in Saxony-Anhalt, and -9°C in the Harz Mountains.

Across other parts of Germany, you can expect wintry conditions with light snowfall and subzero temperatures. Eastern and northeastern regions will brace for persistent frost and occasional snow showers, with temperatures reaching double-digit negatives in some areas. Alpine regions are forecasted to receive significant snowfall, potentially reaching 20cm, while western and southwestern Germany may see slightly milder temperatures with snowfall along the coast.

Stay informed about the evolving weather conditions, as the DWD warns, as wintry weather continues to impact travel and activities nationwide.
