Life's Graceful Journey: Balancing Goodbye and Domestic Bliss under the Bushido Code
Veteran German Rapper Bushido Announces Retirement After Over Two Decades
Berlin - German rap sensation Bushido, once a notorious figure due to misogynistic and homophobic lyrics, feuds, and legal troubles, has announced his retirement from the music industry after more than 25 years. The rapper, whose real name is Anis Mohamed Youssef Ferchichi, plans to bid farewell with final concerts in 2026.
In a recent interview with the German Press Agency, Bushido hinted at his final tour, which would be preceded by a pre-sale on May 30. After a eight-year hiatus, Bushido returned for a farewell tour dubbed "King Forever!" in 2024, drawing enthusiasm from 150,000 fans in Germany, Luxembourg, and Austria, leading to an additional 10 concerts in 2026.
Bushido, now 46, appears firm on his decision to leave the stage. While addressing the question about a possible comeback, he stated emphatically, "It's over. A return is out of the question."
Despite the potential pain of leaving behind an illustrious career, Bushido is reportedly reluctant to continue performing if his music no longer appeals to fans or if he becomes a washed-up celebrity. He revealed his aspirations for voluntary benefit performances, such as those for children in war zones, instead of participating in numerous reality TV appearances or playing minor gigs at hardware stores.
Having lived a tumultuous life, Bushido credited his good fortune for his ability to thrive through music without ever becoming a model student. Now, he cherishes his family life in Dubai with his wife, Anna-Maria Ferchichi, whom he married in 2012, and their eight children. Reflecting on their relationship, he acknowledged that their love had endured numerous challenges that could have led to their separation.
As Bushido transitions to family life, he aspires to distance himself from his controversial past, including legal disputes with peers like Arafat Abou-Chaker and rapper Fler. Despite his past controversies, he remains connected to his German roots, regularly tuning in to a Berlin radio station and expressing pride in his German heritage.
Bushido is aware of the potential pitfalls of aging, seeking to maintain a level-headed approach with regular therapy sessions and adequate sleep. Although he no longer dyes his hair or uses cosmetic treatments, he neither fears growing old nor wishes to delay death. Instead, he expresses a desire to die content and satisfied, surrounded by his family.
As Bushido embraces the next chapter of his life, his fans and supporters will undoubtedly remember his remarkable career in the music industry. Whether this truly marks the end of his musical journey or another interlude, only time will tell.
In the interview, Bushido mentioned a pre-sale for his final tour on May 30, signifying a closure to his career in entertainment, which spanned over two decades. In light of his upcoming retirement, Bushido has expressed a desire to participate in charity events, such as performing for children in war zones, rather than entertaining in less significant venues or appear on reality TV shows.
