Leon Tsoukernik: From Antiques to Poker Empire and Beyond

Leon Tsoukernik, born on November 7, 1973, has had an extraordinary journey from antiques to poker empire. The Czech businessman, known for his success in the poker world, recently shared his story following a scary accident.

Tsoukernik started his career in an antiques shop in Toronto, Canada, in 1991. He later moved back to Prague, Czech Republic, where he started his own antiquarian venture. In 1999, he co-founded an international antiquities dealership.

In the early 2000s, Tsoukernik purchased land in Rozvadov and started to build King's Casino. The casino reemerged as King's Resort in 2017, and it has since become a hub for poker tournaments. King's Casino Rozvadov opened its doors on June 26, 2003.

Tsoukernik has participated in dozens of poker tournaments throughout his professional career. One of his most notable victories came during the World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) 2019, where he won the €100,000 No Limit Hold'em Short Deck - King's Super High Roller, pocketing a top prize of €1,102,000. He also ranked fourth place in the $300,000 No Limit Hold'em event during the Super High Roller Bowl from 2017 in Las Vegas, Nevada, winning a mind-boggling $1.8m prize.

In 2016, Tsoukernik clinched first place in the €48,500 + 1,500 No Limit Hold'em - Super High Roller at the European Poker Tour Prague, earning €741,100. The WSOPE has been taking place at King's Resort since 2017.

Despite spending 40 hours in a coma, Tsoukernik said he felt "absolutely fine" and "fantastic" following his recovery. He credited Professor Beneš and his wife Sandra for his recovery, but there is no information available about Sandra. Tsoukernik also thanked the medics at the Clinic of Anesthesiology, Resuscitation and Intensive Care Medicine.

In 2024, Tsoukernik sold all of his gambling assets, effectively exiting the gambling vertical. According to The Hendon Mob, Tsoukernik has amassed $5,445,290 in total live earnings from poker.

King's Casino Rozvadov overhauled its offering, focusing on poker games. Today, it stands as a testament to Tsoukernik's resilience and vision, attracting poker enthusiasts from around the world.
