Lidl Deutschland Tour Heads to Detmold on August 22nd
Get ready, cycling enthusiasts! The Lidl Deutschland Tour is set to pass through the beautiful city of Detmold on August 22nd, and it promises to be an exciting event.
Organised by A.S.O. Germany GmbH, the largest cycling event organiser in Germany and a subsidiary of Amaury Sport Organisation, this event is part of the UCI WorldTour cycling series. The route will take cyclists through some of Detmold's most picturesque locations, including Stoddartstraße, Donoperteich, Hiddesen, Heiligenkirchen, Berlebeck, and Gausekohe.
One of the highlights of the route is the mountain classification at the Grotenburg and Gausekohe. These challenging sections are sure to test the endurance and skill of the participating cyclists.
To ensure the safety of everyone involved, police, a 40-vehicle motorcycle escort, and event marshals will secure the route. No parking will be allowed on the race track on August 22nd, with warning signs posted along the route.
As the route passes by Hermann's Monument, which is celebrating its 150th birthday, spectators can expect to see some historical landmarks along the way. If you're interested in volunteering for the Detmold section of the Lidl Deutschland Tour, you can contact Marco Oberteicher at [email protected] or call him at 0176 87844166.

With temporary traffic disruptions and road closures expected, it's important to plan your travel accordingly. Affected road sections will be closed for up to one hour.
