The city of Halle is gearing up for an exciting cycling event as it hosts the final stage of the Lidl Germany Tour 2025 on August 24. The route will take riders from Halle (Saale) to Magdeburg, covering a distance of 163.7 km.

The Race

The final stage will see some of the top cyclists in action, including Søren Wærenskjold, Matthew Brennan, Jhonatan Narvaez, Danny van Poppel, and Jonathan Milan, among others. Wout van Aert, Nils Politt, Adam Yates, John Degenkolb, and Florian Lipowitz, third-place finisher of this year's Tour de France, are also expected to participate.

Matthew Brennan is expected to defend his victory from the final stage, while Søren Wærenskjold aims to secure the overall title, along with the green points and white young rider jerseys.

The Festival

To add to the excitement, a family festival will take place on the Halle market square from 11 AM to 6 PM. The festival, named "We're Spinning Around," will feature a variety of side events, including interviews with Uwe Raab and Olaf Ludwig at 2:30 PM and races in the start channel of the tour on Leipzig Street.

A celebrity bike race is scheduled for 3 PM, and a children's bike race for participants' own bikes will take place at 2:45 PM.

Preparations and Information

Preparations for the event are in full swing. Unfortunately, the Halle market square will not have a market on August 23 due to preparations for the tour start and cycling festival.

The city has set up a hotline for questions about the Lidl Germany Tour. The number is 0345 / 221-2323 and is available on Wednesdays and Fridays from 9 AM to 3 PM, and on Thursdays from 9 AM to 6 PM. However, it's important to note that this hotline is not related to the registration for the "Tower Sprint" event or the participating cyclists or race route.

The city's homepage provides comprehensive information about the Lidl Germany Tour, including details about road closures and tram traffic restrictions during the event. Interested participants can register for the "Tower Sprint" here.

For the most precise information about the event times on August 24, checking the official Deutschland Tour website or race day programs is recommended.
