Lidl Deutschland Cycling Excursion
The Lidl Deutschland Tour is set to pass through Detmold on Friday, August 28, 2025, and organisers are seeking volunteers to help ensure the event runs smoothly.
Starting on August 22nd, police, a 40-vehicle motorcycle escort, and event marshals will secure the route 45 minutes before the cyclists' passage. Affected road sections will be closed to regular traffic for a maximum of one hour. Warning signs and no-parking signs will be posted along the route to minimise disruptions.
The cycling caravan is expected to cross the Detmold city limits around 12:25 PM. The route takes the Stoddartstraße along the Donoperteich towards Hiddesen, climbs up to the Hermann's Monument for a mountain classification, and then leads to Berlebeck.
The next challenging test for the cyclists awaits at the Gausekohe - another opportunity for mountain classification points. This year marks the 150th anniversary of the Hermann's Monument, and the cyclists will pay tribute to this historic landmark as they conquer the Teutoburg Forest.
