Library's Central Hub to Host Manga Event in 2025
The Duisburg library is gearing up for an exciting event, as the Children's and Youth Library at Steinsche Gasse 26 prepares to host 'Manga Day 2025' on September 27. Organised by the Zentralbibliothek, the event promises a day filled with manga-themed activities for all ages.
The day will be packed with entertainment, including a spin-the-wheel, traditional Japanese games, and a large photo booth for cosplayers and manga fans. Visitors can also participate in a manga quiz to test their knowledge on classics and current hits.
For those who love collecting manga, there will be a media treasure trove where bargain hunters can find their favourite titles. Proceeds from the sales will benefit the Duisburg Library Foundation.
Publishers are set to produce 28 exclusive manga special editions to be given away for free. These limited-edition books are not to be missed!
Artist Jen Satora will lead an open workshop on creating manga characters, providing a unique opportunity for attendees to learn from a professional. Visitors can also bring their own shirts to be transformed into unique manga-themed pieces.
Wagokoro e.V. will offer a kimono try-on for visitors, allowing them to experience a piece of Japanese culture firsthand.
The library will present its current manga collection for free checkout with a library card, giving attendees a chance to explore the world of manga further. An exhibition about the origins, styles, and themes of manga is also available for exploration.
No registration is required for the Manga Day event, and admission is free. For more information about the event, visit www.stadtbibliothek-unser website.de. A PDF poster for the event is available with a file size of 716.83 kB.
