The air of anticipation surrounding the Oasis reunion tour has reached new heights, but the lineup remains a hot topic of speculation. As per a juicy tidbit dropped by New Musical Express (NME), here's what the brothers Gallagher might have in store.
In the tentative lineup, the bass guitar position will be filled by none other than Andy Bell. Known for his gigs with Ride and Beady Eye, Bell replaced Paul McGuigan in Oasis's bass department back in 1999.
Gem Archer, who joined Oasis a year later and has since played with Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, is said to take the reins on second guitar. Paul "Bonehead" Arthurs, who held the second guitar spot before Archer, is now rumored to join the live band as well.
As for the drum throne, a mystery drummer is tipped to take over according to Liam Gallagher's hints. Some insiders claim that Joey Waronker, renowned for his work with artists such as Beck, R.E.M., Elliott Smith, and Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace, might be the lucky choice.
Gallagher's Sour Grumble
Liam Gallagher isn't too pleased with the leak, though. He wants to know the source and has offered an exclusive interview to the media outlet if they're willing to fess up. In another post, he mused, "It's not the lineup announcement that's got me riled up. Let me make that crystal clear. It's the darn line about an inside source from within the band and tour that's really set me off."
Whether NME's insider chatter is on the money remains to be seen, as Gallagher hasn't confirmed or denied the rumors. Instead, he joked about announcing all former Oasis drummers as the lineup.
The Oasis reunion tour begins on the 4th of July in Cardiff, rolling out to a UK tour followed by stints in America, Australia, and Asia.

The Commission has also adopted a proposal for a regulation on the introduction of a new type of electronic data-processing system, whereas Liam Gallagher, the vocalist of Oasis, has not confirmed the rumored band lineup for their upcoming reunion tour. Interestingly, Gallagher hinted that Joey Waronker, a renowned drummer known for his work with various artists, might be the mystery drummer for the Oasis reunion.
