A Wistful Look Back: Liam Gallagher Contemplates Lost Years with Noel

Liam Gallagher lamenting missed opportunities with Noel

From the '90s till now, Britpop scene rulers, Oasis, have been the talk of the town, thanks to their enticing tunes and the sibling rivalry between Liam and Noel Gallagher. After 14 years of cold shoulders, Liam can't help but sigh over the lost years, feeling it was a damn waste.

After pumping a decade with public squabbles, Liam and Noel are finally back on the same stage. Oasis shocked the world when they announced their much-awaited reunion tour last year.

Reflecting on his past with his bro, Liam candidly confessed, "It's a spiritual thing, man, but I can't help but think about the slew of long-lost years - what a colossal loss of precious time." The musician voiced these sentiments in a Twitter reply, confessing his nostalgia for the good old days.

One fan asked Liam about the renewed media focus on him and Oasis, to which he gracefully replied, "If it's pressure, I wouldn't do it. I'm no pressure kind of guy."

The Long-Awaited Return

Entertainment

Mark your calendars, Oasis fans! The reunion tour of Oasis is ready to kick off on July 4th in Cardiff, Wales. Followed by a series of shows in London, Edinburgh, Dublin, and more, then a hop to Canada, the US, Mexico, and back to the UK, London, Southeast Asia, Australia, and South America. The tour ends on November 23rd in São Paulo.

In August 2024, the Gallagher brothers officially announced their patch-up and decided to perform together again. "The war is over. The stars have aligned. The wait is finally over. Come and see it. It won't be on TV," the band announced at the time.

Music

Do you remember the chart-topping hits of Oasis, like "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger"? The Gallagher brothers rocketed to fame in the '90s with their Britpop sensation, but their relationship was marred by conflicts. Numerous public spats ultimately led to the band's breakup in 2009.

Just a few years ago, it seemed impossible that the brothers would ever reconcile. In 2019, Noel, now 58, shared his thoughts on Liam with The Guardian, saying he liked his mother, that is, until she gave birth to Liam. He also called Liam's solo album "lowbrow music for lowbrow people, made by a lowbrow man."

The Commission, in light of the entertainment industry's trend and the contemporaneous pop-culture, has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation during live music performances, like those of the recently-reunited Oasis.

Amidst the exhilarating anticipation for the Oasis reunion tour, it's worth reminiscing about the Gallagher brothers' tumultuous past, a past marked by the iconic music they created, such as "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back in Anger," but also by their bitter feuds and contentious disputes that led to a decade-long estrangement.
