Liam Gallagher Fires Back at Edinburgh Council Over Oasis Fans
Liam Gallagher Disputes Police Evaluation Regarding Oasis Supporters
Liam Gallagher has taken a stand against Edinburgh Council after they reportedly described Oasis fans as "drunk, middle-aged, and fat."
While the details emerged in documents released through a freedom of information request, authorities expressed concerns over the large number of older fans who "take up more room." They also expected "medium to high intoxication" among the crowd, labeling Oasis fans as "already rowdy," potentially posing safety concerns for the Edinburgh Festival Fringe performers.
In response, Gallagher some choice words for the council members, remarking, "To the Edinburgh council, I've heard what you said about Oasis fans, and quite frankly, your attitude fucking stinks." Gallagher supposes these council members might not be best placed to pass judgement, hinting that he'd happily encourage fans to move on if they were in his shoes.
This standoff comes ahead of Oasis's three sold-out concerts in August 2025 at Edinburgh's Murrayfield Stadium, an event anticipating approximately 210,000 attendees. The brothers, Liam and Noel Gallagher, put their longstanding feud to rest in late 2024 and announced a joint world tour for 2025. Formed in Manchester, 1991, the band is widely regarded as pioneers of the Britpop movement, delivering iconic hits like "Wonderwall" and "Don't Look Back In Anger," which continue to sell millions of copies.
