"I'm still feeling something in my lungs, which is unusual for me. Normally, I'd race with one arm hanging. But not this time," Hamilton revealed to Reuters, acknowledging the impact of the virus on his performance.

Losing weight in preparation, Hamilton recognizes that he's not at 100%, but he's committed to delivering his best. "I've dropped weights this week, so I'm not at 100%. But that won't stop me from showing up and giving it my all," he added.

I'm focusing on healing my body as quickly as possible. I'm just grateful for the opportunity," he expressed on Instagram. "I know I won't be at 100%, but I'm still looking forward to the fight on the track."

Referencing the challenges of bouncing back from COVID-19, Hamilton acknowledged, "It's not as easy as it used to be to load up."
