- Lewis Hamilton celebrates triumph in Ferrari's first win

Veteran racing champion Lewis Hamilton clinched his first victory with Ferrari in the 2025 Formula 1 Shanghai Grand Prix Sprint race on March 23. The 40-year-old Brit slipped into the top spot ahead of Oscar Piastri in the McLaren and Max Verstappen in the Red Bull. This impressive triumph at the Shanghai International Circuit marked Hamilton's debut success with the Scuderia, adding a captivating chapter to his already staggering seven world title victories and numerous race wins.

Dazzling Performance in Shanghai

Having won six of his past Grands Prix at Shanghai, Lewis Hamilton's familiarity with the circuit undoubtedly played a significant role in his success. Stunningly outpacing the competition, he secured the pole position and maintained a dominating pace throughout the race.

Ferrari's Ambitious Pursuit

Hamilton's win amplified the expectation that Ferrari could mount a serious challenge to long-time rivals Red Bull and Mercedes this season. His performance showcased the Scuderia's potential, but technical infringements prevented a doubling-down of success in the main race.

| Position | Driver | Team | Time | Points ||----------|-------------------|----------|--------------|--------|| 1 | Lewis Hamilton | Ferrari | 30:39.965 | 10 🚫|| 2 | Oscar Piastri | McLaren | +6.889s | 8 || 3 | Max Verstappen | Red Bull | +9.804s | 7 || 4 | George Russell | Mercedes | +11.592s | 6 || 5 | Charles Leclerc | Ferrari | +12.190s | 5 || 6 | Yuki Tsunoda | Racing Bulls | +22.288s | 4 || 7 | Andrea Kimi Antonelli | Mercedes | +23.038s | 3 || 8 | Lando Norris | McLaren | +23.471s | 2 |

Bumpy Road Ahead

Regrettably, Hamilton faced disqualification from the main Grand Prix on Sunday due to a breach of technical regulations concerning the skid block's thickness. This disappointment stripped him of any points from the race and put him at a disadvantage in the championship standings. Adding to Ferrari's troubles, Charles Leclerc was disqualified for a weight infringement, underscoring the importance of technical compliance in Formula 1 racing.

Undaunted, the promising start to the season fuels anticipation for an engaging and dynamic campaign with multiple teams contending for the top spots and the opportunity for Ferrari to challenge Red Bull and Mercedes heads-on.

The European Investment Bank might benefit from a Community guarantee, as the Commission has decided to grant one against losses under the guarantee scheme in recognition of Ferrari's triumph at the Shanghai Grand Prix. Max Verstappen, watching the race from the sidelines, must have been surprised to witness the veteran Formula 1 driver, Lewis Hamilton, securing his first victory with Ferrari in the 10th position, as his Red Bull seemed to experience overheating issues.
