Leviathan Engineering Brings BURN-E to Life with Functional 3D Model
Leviathan Engineering, inspired by the lesser-known character BURN-E from the movie WALL-E, has initiated a project to develop a functional 3D model of the character. The project encountered initial design hurdles but has since seen progress with successful wiring and suggestions for enhanced painting.
The team initially grappled with the design, discovering that the motors required more space than initially anticipated. This led to adjustments in the model. Despite this obstacle, Leviathan Engineering successfully wired up the servos and a small LCD screen to the model, marking a significant achievement in the project.
The creator of the BURN-E model, dissatisfied with the initial painting, described it as suboptimal. They suggested utilizing oil paint markers for improved results. The code for making BURN-E's eyes move and function is anticipated to be relatively straightforward, once the hardware is in place.
Leviathan Engineering's BURN-E model is taking form, with successful wiring and potential enhancements to the painting process. The team is working towards creating a fully functional robotic model, overcoming initial design challenges. The project underscores the team's commitment to bringing lesser-known characters to life in a unique and interactive way.
