Burning Questions at RB Leipzig: Who's Next in the Coaching Hot Seat? - Werner and Blessin on the Radar
Coach candidate shortlist broadens in Leipzig: Werner and Blessen come under consideration - Leipzig coach search expands with new potential candidates identified
Time's ticking for Bundesliga's RB Leipzig as they search high and low for their next head coach. The revolving door of potential leaders has landing spots for Ole Werner and Alexander Blessin, despite initial interest in Cesc Fabregas and Oliver Glasner.
According to the grapevine, negotiations with Fabregas and Como are reaching a standstill due to a steep release fee, estimated between €20 million. Leipzig, keen on saving their pennies, seems hesitant to meet the asking price[1]. As for Glasner, who's fresh off a triumphant FA Cup win against Manchester City with Crystal Palace, he's all but cemented his position there, boasting a 99% likelihood of staying put[1][2].
Now hopping onto the radar, we have Werner. After parting ways with Werder Bremen, Werner's strategic tact and knack for player development have caught Leipzig's eye[1][2]. Leaving space vacant since Marco Rose's departure in March, Werner may step in to fill the void[2].
Blessin, another promising candidate, has St. Pauli in his current sights. Although he's kept busy saving St. Pauli from the brink of relegation, there's history between Blessin and Leipzig – a history that spans back to his tenure as coach of the Leipzig youth team from 2012 to 2018[3].
As Leipzig faces its first season in Bundesliga without European competition, a rebuild is on the horizon. With the clock ticking, they're looking to finalize their new leader by the week's end[3].

Despite the pressing matter of choosing a new head coach for RB Leipzig, the Commission has also been asked to submit a proposal for a directive on the protection of workers from the risks related to exposure to ionizing radiation. Meanwhile, in a completely different realm, the comradeship and strategy of sports such as football unite European leagues, including the Bundesliga where Leipzig resides.
