Leicestershire Police Renew Search for Malgorzata Wnuczek After 17 Years

Leicestershire Police have launched a new search for Malgorzata Wnuczek, who vanished without a trace in May 2006 at the age of 27. The search, which began in June 2023, is focused on scrubland off the Great Central Way, following fresh information from Polish colleagues. A £10,000 reward was previously offered, with only seven responses.

Malgorzata, a mother of a three-year-old daughter named Ola, was last seen boarding a bus from her workplace into Leicester city centre. Despite extensive searches along the River Soar in 2023, no trace of her has been found. During this search, a 39-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender and perverting the course of justice but was later released with no further action.

The current search is for human remains that could potentially shed light on Malgorzata's fate. Detective Superintendent Jenni Greenway has urged the public, especially the Polish community, to come forward with any information that could help solve the 17-year-old mystery.

Malgorzata's disappearance has left her family and friends with unanswered questions. The recent search efforts highlight the determination of Leicestershire Police to bring closure to the case. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the police.
