Lego Sets Introduced for 'X-Files' and 'Wallace & Gromit' Series

In an exciting turn of events, two beloved franchises from the '90s, The X-Files and Wallace & Gromit, are set to make their Lego debuts. The announcement comes as a result of the Lego Ideas '90s Throwback competition, where both shows won their respective categories [1][3][5].

For fans of The X-Files, the upcoming set, titled The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There, promises an immersive experience. It features Minifigures of Mulder, Scully, a grey alien, Assistant Director Walter Skinner, Eugene Tooms, the Syndicate Leader, and even the Jersey Devil. The set includes two vignettes: one replicates Fox Mulder's FBI office, while another captures a forested UFO encounter with a grey alien, embodying the show's '90s-era aesthetic and mystery themes [1].

Meanwhile, Wallace & Gromit fans can look forward to a brick-built display piece of the characters as they appeared in the third short film, A Close Shave. The set does not include Minifigures, but it features Wallace and Gromit riding their motorbike and sidecar for their window-cleaning business, recreating the classic rounded style of Aardman's claymation designs using sloped, smooth tiles [1].

The Lego Ideas competition had two categories: larger sets and a smaller category for builds between 200 and 1,000 pieces. WetWired won the larger category with their submission, The X-Files: The Truth Is Out There [1]. However, neither the Wallace & Gromit nor The X-Files official sets have release windows or price points yet.

This dual victory reflects the growing trend of Lego honoring classic pop culture from the 1990s through fan-driven design contests. In addition to these sets, upcoming releases for Marvel, Star Wars, Star Trek, DC Universe, and Doctor Who are also in the pipeline, but they are not related to the Lego Ideas sets [1].

For now, the wallet remains safe as neither the Wallace & Gromit nor The X-Files official sets have release information. However, with these iconic '90s franchises joining the Lego family, fans can expect a nostalgic trip down memory lane once these sets hit the shelves.
