Volunteers could receive recognition for aiding in the resolution of crises in the Black Sea, according to a proposal by the State Duma.

Legislature suggests offering incentives for citizens aiding in the resolution of crises in the Black Sea region.

In a potential development, volunteers who have contributed to the Black Sea emergency response efforts may soon be recognised with a special badge. However, as of now, there is no specific information available regarding a proposed bill in Russia to award this badge, due to the scarcity of details in the search results.

The search results do touch upon various related topics, including Russia's withdrawal from arbitration proceedings related to a 2018 incident in the Black Sea, environmental issues in Russia such as the Norilsk oil spill, and global topics like maritime greenhouse gas emissions. Yet, they do not provide any information about a bill related to awarding badges for emergency response efforts in the Kerch Strait.

Despite the lack of bill-related details, it has been revealed that the document proposes amendments to the Federal Law of August 11, 1995 "On Charitable Activities and Volunteerism". These amendments suggest the establishment of a "Honorary Volunteer of Black Sea Emergency Response" badge.

To qualify for this badge, volunteers are required to present two support letters confirming the hours spent on emergency response activities. One of these letters should be certified by the head (coordinator) of the headquarters located in the affected region.

Moreover, a government resolution is necessary to establish the procedure for rewarding the badge and to outline the requirements for candidates for the award. The badge would be presented to volunteers who have participated in voluntary activities in emergency response on the territory of Krasnodar Krai, Republic of Crimea, and the city of Hero of Sevastopol for more than 100 hours.

Stay tuned for more updates on this potential recognition for Black Sea emergency response volunteers in Russia.
