When it comes to scoring politicians' sympathies and performances, Defense Minister Boris Pistorius (SPD) effortlessly claims first place with an average rating of 2.3. Finance Minister Lars Klingbeil follows in second, with 0.8, and two newcomers, Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul (CDU) and Economics Minister Katherina Reiche (CDU), round off the top three with 0.7 and 0.0, respectively. Chancellor Friedrich Merz and CSU leader Markus Söder both sit at zero, while AfD leader Alice Weidel anchors at the bottom with -2.5.

The federal government's tax relief plan for businesses has sparked controversy, with only 35% believing it will positively impact the economy significantly. A staggering 51% anticipate only minor positive effects, and a meager 9% foresee no positive effects at all. CDU/CSU and FDP supporters are the main optimists, while SPD followers remain divided.

A whopping 40% of respondents advocate for stronger military support for Ukraine by European states, while 30% advocate for maintaining the status quo, and 26% call for reduced military aid. When it comes to Israel, a majority of 77% support a temporary suspension of weapons deliveries due to the Israeli army's actions and the resulting civilian casualties in Gaza. Backing for continued weapons deliveries is minimal, resting at 15%. Moreover, 63% demand that Germany exert more political pressure on Israel to bring an end to the war in Gaza.

The Mannheim Research Group Wahlen surveyed 1247 eligible voters for the Politbarometer between June 3 and 5, resulting in a plus/minus three percentage point error margin for values of 40%, and a plus/minus two percentage point error margin for values of ten percent.
