Despite these challenges, she initially reported feeling better in subsequent social media posts, wishing her fans a happy Fourth of July on July 4.
Francis, born Concetta Rosemarie Franconero in an Italian American family in New Jersey, had a meteoric rise in the music industry. She sold over 40 million records before she turned 25 and became the first female artist to reach the Billboard Top 100. In 1984, she published her autobiography titled "Who's Sorry Now?"
