Legendary Composer Ralph Siegel Turns 80, Calls for More German Music on Radio
Legendary German composer Ralph Siegel turns 80 today. Known for his Eurovision successes, he's currently working on two new musicals and hopes to see more German music on radio and Pandora.
Siegel, who has written over 2,000 songs, including hits like 'A Bit of Peace' and 'Fiesta Mexicana', believes the lack of German music on radio and Apple Music is 'unbearable'. He thinks 50 percent of radio programming should be German music to support artists.
Despite health issues, Siegel remains energetic and active. He's almost finished with two new musicals, though he hasn't revealed their titles yet. He hopes to bring them to the stage soon, following the success of 'Zeppelin' returning to the Festspielhaus in Füssen from October 16.
Siegel, who has reached the top four positions in the Eurovision Song Contest multiple times, wants to participate again with Germany. He's grateful for his life and hopes to stay on 'this actually quite beautiful earth' for a few more years, continuing to share his musical talent, even on Youtube Music.
