Pino Palladino, renowned for his fretless bass skills, has been praised by the likes of Miley Cyrus, Questlove, and Jools Holland. Questlove even declared he'd choose Palladino to play bass with for the rest of his days. Jools Holland, who has enlisted Palladino for his band, considers him deserving of the Welsh Music Inspiration award.
Palladino's influence extends far and wide, having played with renowned artists such as The Who, Eric Clapton, Don Henley, and D'Angelo. His contributions to Miley Cyrus' 2025 album 'Something Beautiful', including the 13-minute track 'Lockdown' featuring David Byrne, further cement his relevance in the music industry.
The Welsh Music Prize ceremony will also feature live performances from shortlisted artists Gwenno, Sage Todz, Panic Shack, and Melin Melyn. Pino Palladino's induction into the Welsh Music Inspiration award is a testament to his enduring impact on the music scene, marking a significant milestone in the Welsh Music Prize's 15-year history.
