"Legal Action Initiated Against Pat McAfee: A Fan Injured During Live Netflix Show by a Rival's Move"
Here's a Fresh Take on the Trouble Brewing Between Pat McAfee and Gunther
Things might've gone down between Pat McAfee and WWE titan Gunther way before the dust-up at Raw after WrestleMania.
The Ring General, showing some raw heat on that show, took a swing at commentator Michael Cole, causing McAfee to jump in, save his buddy, and get Knocked out Cold in the process.
Despite the general manager suspending the former World Heavyweight champ, McAfee decided to hit back by challenging Gunther to a bout at Backlash - his first singles match since WrestleMania back in 2023.
If McAfee pulls off a shock victory, it'd go down as one of the greatest upsets in WWE history.
It appears Gunther wasn't always so friendly towards McAfee. Early signs of tension can be traced back to a run-in they had a few weeks prior at ringside.
The colossal brickhouse Gunther has been unstoppable since joining WWE via NXT in 2019, boasting lengthy reigns with both the Intercontinental and World Heavyweight belts.

Gunther lost the World Heavyweight title to Jey Uso at WrestleMania 41, and leading up to that battle, there was an intriguing encounter involving McAfee. Fans will recall McAfee found himself in the spotlight when Gunther launched his jacket, intending to hit McAfee but catching an innocent spectator instead.
The mishap occurred during an incident where Gunther attacked Uso as he celebrated with the crowd at the beginning of Monday Night Raw in February, which was broadcast live from Nashville.
Viewers around the world couldn't miss it; one commenter said, "I think Gunther wanted to hit Pat with the jacket but it hit the kid instead," while another quipped "Oh man, he's getting sued." But McAfee, as quick as ever, managed to duck the jacket, sparing the unfortunate fan from a potential worse fate.
In the aftermath of the incident, Uso announced he'd be challenging Gunther for the World title at WWE Backlash in Vegas the following month. Uso had initially been torn between facing Gunther or Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania after winning the Royal Rumble. As fate would have it, he emerged victorious at the big show, taking the title from Gunther.
Gunther and McAfee are now set to square off at Backlash 2025, giving them a much-needed platform to settle their beef once and for all.
