Left-Wing Extremist Lina Faces Lawsuit by Federal Prosecutors Office

Kick-Back: Discover the latest lowdown on the radical left-wing group that's been causing chaos across multiple regions. Find out who the Seven Suspects are and their alleged crimes.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office has unveiled seven more suspected radical left-wingers, who were reportedly close to Lina E and Johann G – the alleged gang leaders known for their militant left-wing extremist ideology. They are now being accused of conducting vicious attacks on perceived "right-wingers", with charges ranging from attempted murder to bodily harm.

Among the seven suspects is Johann G, who has been implicated in founding a left-wing extremist criminal organization. Law enforcement officers took G, then 31, into custody on a train in the region of Weimar last November. The Federal Prosecutor's Office accuses the group of sharing a radical left-wing ideology, orchestrating violent attacks over several years, and spying on their victims to prepare for these attacks.

Justice Call: Court Turns Down Lina E's Appeal to Remain Free

The Federal Prosecutor's Office had Lina E and G's associates under their radar for quite some time. Their group is said to have executed aggressive attacks against individuals deemed right-wing, causing serious bodily injury, property damage, and theft in certain instances. Four men out of the seven suspects are currently behind bars, while the remaining trio – two men and one woman – are still at large.

A noteworthy incident unfolded in Budapest, Hungary, in February 2023, where G and another defendant targeted perceived right-wingers and left several victims injured. Subsequently, several elusive individuals surrendered to the authorities in January, striving to avoid Hungarian trials and seeking trials to be held in Germany. Their lawyers believe the sentences imposed in Hungary could be disproportionately long, up to 24 years, and that the legal process does not adhere to the rule of law's standards.

In addition to several attacks in Thuringia and Saxony, incidents involving G and another defendant transpired in Budapest, where they attacked victims view as right-wing. This episode left several victims injured.

Lina E herself is serving a prison sentence, convicted by the Dresden Higher Regional Court in 2023 for membership in a criminal organization, as well as for causing dangerous bodily harm. The Federal Court of Justice confirmed the verdict in March, putting an end to the appeals process. The exact length of E's sentence remains unclear, with pretrial detention and other factors needing consideration.
