Leeds United and Villarreal End in a Draw, With Farke Expressing Worry Regarding Bogle's Injury Before the Upcoming Premier League Debut

Leeds United's preparations for the upcoming Premier League season are facing a setback as manager Daniel Farke expresses concern over the hip flexor injury sustained by Jayden Bogle during pre-season training.

The full-back, who made the most tackles (98) and won the most tackles (62) among Leeds players last season, has missed recent pre-season matches, including the game against Villarreal. His absence has left a gaping hole in the defense, with Isaac Schmidt being tipped to replace him if Bogle is unavailable for the season opener against Everton on August 18.

Farke is hopeful that Bogle will be available during the last week of preparation before the Everton match, but he admits that the full-back position is thin due to injuries. The manager is keeping his fingers crossed for a timely recovery, as Bogle's return would significantly bolster Leeds' defensive options.

However, the injury is serious enough to cause concern, with Farke not sure if Bogle will be ready even for the upcoming friendly against AC Milan. The situation adds pressure on Leeds, who are already dealing with multiple injury issues in the squad and may consider reinforcements in the full-back area.

Last season, Bogle recorded a career-high six goals and added four assists. His absence would be a significant blow to Leeds' attack, especially considering that Jack Harrison is also awaiting the results of a scan on a groin issue.

Meanwhile, Leeds United managed to avoid defeat in pre-season friendlies, with their game against Villarreal ending in a 1-1 draw. Joel Piroe equalised for Leeds United five minutes after Etta Eyong scored for Villarreal.

Daniel James, Lucas Perri, and Jack Harrison were also absent from the Leeds United squad, with James expected to be available for the last test against AC Milan, despite light problems during this week. Perri is expected to be ready for next weekend's match against AC Milan.

In other pre-season action, Burnley lost 1-0 to Stoke City at the Bet365 Stadium, while Sunderland were beaten 1-0 on home soil by Real Betis.

As Leeds United continue their preparations, the focus remains on Bogle's recovery and the team's defensive options for the start of the new season. The club will be hoping for positive news on both fronts in the coming days.
