Lee Jung-hoo of the Giants maintains his batting streak at 7 consecutive matches

Lee Jung-hoo, the star outfielder for the San Francisco Giants, has been in exceptional form lately. As of mid-August 2025, he has extended his longest hitting streak of the season to an impressive eight games.

This current streak surpasses his second longest of the season, a seven-game run, and matches his best performance since the start of the season when he achieved an eight-game streak from March 29 to April 7.

In the Giants' 5-0 shutout of the Washington Nationals on August 17, Lee Jung-hoo played a crucial role. He scored the team's first run with a heads-up display of baserunning, and added another run later in the game.

The game began with Lee Jung-hoo recording outs in the first and third innings, a flyout and a groundout respectively. However, he broke his streak of hitless innings in the bottom of the eighth, securing a single off Shinnosuke Ogasawara.

Unfortunately, an error prevented him from extending his extra-base hit streak to seven games. In the bottom sixth inning, Lee Jung-hoo sent a hard grounder down the first base line, but it went underneath the glove of first baseman Nathaniel Lowe, ruling it an error.

Despite this, Lee Jung-hoo has been consistent this month, batting .393 in seven games so far. In the game against the Washington Nationals, he batted 1-for-4.

Meanwhile, Kim Ha-seong of the Tampa Bay Rays was not in action during their game against the Seattle Mariners. Patrick Bailey hit a dribbler toward the third base line, setting the stage for Lee Jung-hoo's crucial at-bat in the bottom of the eighth.

As the season progresses, Lee Jung-hoo continues to impress, with his current hitting streak tied with his second longest run of the season. Fans and analysts alike are eager to see how long this impressive streak will continue.

Lee Jung-hoo, in the midst of an impressive MLB season with the San Francisco Giants, has his hitting streak tied with his second longest run – eight games – after securing a single off Shinnosuke Ogasawara during a game against the Washington Nationals.
