Meanwhile, Max Verstappen's team has been making further adjustments to his car ahead of the race. The Dutch driver, who has won five out of nine Mexican Grand Prix races since 2015, trails Oscar Piastri by 40 points in the championship with five Grands Prix remaining this season. Piastri, who finished fourth in the opening practice session, is 14 points ahead of Lando Norris in the championship. Norris, who sat out today's session, is 26 points ahead of Verstappen.
In other news, Mexican driver Patricio O’Ward drove Lando Norris’s car at McLaren, finishing 13th.
