PGA Tour Thailand: Udon Duangdecha Takes Commanding Lead

Udon Duangdecha is currently leading the PGA Tour Thailand by a four-stroke margin, following a sensational performance at the 4th event of the tour held at the Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai.

The 52-year-old golfer fired a 7-under 65 in the second round, taking his two-day total to 13-under 131. Udon Duangdecha started his round with four birdies in his first eight holes, and added three more on holes 10, 12, and 13. Despite a double bogey on the par-3 15th and a bogey on the 17th, he finished the round with a birdie on the final hole.

Zaw Moe, a Singaporean golfer of Myanmar descent, and Englishman Matthew Richardson are tied for second place at 9-under 135. Mardan Mamat is in fifth place at 7-under 137. Notably, Chawalit Plaphol, who has yet to win the PGA Tour Thailand, is in fourth place at 8-under 136.

The final round of the PGA Tour Thailand is set for Friday, September 19, with the leaders teeing off at 8:30 AM. Golf fans can follow the action live on the Thai Senior PGA Facebook fan page.

Udon Duangdecha is aiming to claim his 15th career title on the PGA Tour Thailand. He previously won the tour at the Alpine Golf Resort Chiang Mai two years ago with a score of 19-under. The champion will take home a trophy and a prize of 240,000 Baht.

In other golf news, Thanawin led the SPGA4 team to a Pro-Am victory at the Thai Senior Tour in Chiang Mai.
