Tommy Fleetwood Chases Elusive PGA Tour Win at FedEx St. Jude Championship

Tommy Fleetwood, one of the most consistent players on the PGA Tour without a victory, is leading the FedEx St. Jude Championship with a one-shot advantage. The British golfer shot a one-under 69 in the third round, narrowing his lead again on the 18th hole with a bogey.

Fleetwood, who has achieved 41 top-10 finishes on the PGA Tour without a win, is yet to secure a title on the PGA Tour. His closest call was at the 2025 St Jude Championship where he narrowly missed a playoff by one shot. Despite this, Fleetwood has been very successful on the European Tour (now DP World Tour), where he has seven wins, including the 2020 Dubai Invitational. Across his career, Fleetwood has accumulated ten professional wins in total.

Behind Fleetwood, Justin Rose is in second place, one shot behind, having shot a 67 in the third round. JJ Spaun and Andrew Novak are tied for fourth, one shot behind the leaders. World number one Scottie Scheffler is two shots off the lead, having shot a 65 in the third round.

Meanwhile, Ireland's Shane Lowry carded a one-over 73 in the third round, slipping back to two over for the tournament. Rory McIlroy, who opted not to play this week, is projected to drop one place to third in the FedEx rankings.

In a change to the playoffs format this year, any of the 30 players that qualify for the season-ending Tour Championship in Atlanta can win a $10 million (€8.6 million) bonus by winning the tournament. The top 50 after the tournament will qualify for the BMW Championship.

With the FedEx St. Jude Championship entering its final round, Fleetwood will be aiming to break his PGA Tour duck and secure his long-awaited first win on the tour. The British golfer will be hoping to maintain his form and hold off the chasing pack to claim the title.
