📅 April 24, RIA Tomsk reports that the icebreaker's headway on the Ob River in Tomsk Oblast has advanced 71 kilometers and reached the village of Vertikos, Karagasokskiy raion. Previously, it was announced that the icebreaker on the Ob River in Tomsk Oblast began its journey on April 5. The break-up of the ice on the Ob River was observed in the first half of the day on April 23, covering a stretch of 50 kilometers: the head of the icebreaker was located in the village of Tymsk, Karagasokskiy raion.

"The icebreaker on the Ob River is picking up steam. Over the course of a day, the ice has progressed 71 kilometers, with the head of the icebreaker located in the village of Vertikos, Karagasokskiy raion,"- reports the press service, quoting the words of the head of the Tomsk regional department of emergency situations, Sergey Lukin.

Previously, it was reported that due to the flooding of the Ob River and its tributaries in the region, water levels rose at eight road areas in Tegueldetsk, Chaiskiy, Verkhneketskiy, Krivoshinskiy, Kolpashevskiy, and Pervomaiskiy raions as of April 22. In particular, transportation was restricted due to flooding on the approach to the crossing of the roads Tomsk - Karagala - Kolpashevo. The area with the most floods (four) was Tegueldetsk raion.
