"Leading Aide: Adamant About Preventing Southern Syria from Becoming a Hub for Terrorist Activities"

In the southern Syrian region of As-Suwayda, intense clashes between Druze militias, Syrian government troops, and local Bedouin forces have led to a significant intervention by the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF). The clashes, which have prompted the IDF to support the Druze community, have been escalating due to rising sectarian tensions in the area.

Recent IDF actions against Syrian regime targets in As-Suwayda and Damascus are part of a strategic effort to protect the Druze community and maintain regional security. The IDF has launched airstrikes on key Syrian military infrastructure, including the Defense Ministry and a facility near the presidential palace in Damascus. These strikes targeted command centers coordinating Syrian forces' deployment to As-Suwayda.

The IDF has also targeted Syrian military assets such as tanks, rocket launchers, and vehicles heading to As-Suwayda. This ongoing military campaign aims to deter Syrian forces from engaging with the Druze population.

By supporting the Druze in As-Suwayda, Israel aims to maintain stability and protect the Druze community from Syrian government forces. Abandoning the Druze, according to an IDF official, could lead to serious repercussions within Israel's own Druze population.

The IDF's actions are part of a broader strategy to ensure regional stability and prevent further escalation. The strikes are seen as a strong message to the Syrian government to refrain from actions that could destabilize the region further.

IDF Chief of the General Staff, Eyal Zamir, held a situational assessment at the "Nafah" Base in the Golan Heights on Wednesday evening. The assessment was attended by Deputy Chief of the General Staff MG Tamir Yadai, Commander of the Northern Command MG Ori Gordin, Head of the Intelligence Directorate MG Shlomi Binder, Head of the Operations Directorate MG Itzik Cohen, Commander of the 210th Division BG Yair Peli, and other commanders.

The IDF Chief of the General Staff, Eyal Zamir, has appealed to the Druze community to uphold the law and preserve their lives. The IDF commands and soldiers are acting with responsibility, restraint, and sound judgment in the face of the Druze community.

The IDF has ordered a reinforcement of intelligence and strike capabilities to increase the pace of strikes against assaults against the Druze in Syria. The IDF will not allow southern Syria to become a terror stronghold.

In light of the escalating situation, the IDF is preparing for a significant reinforcement of defensive forces in the Golan Heights with the goal of preventing any threat to the security of Israeli citizens and protecting the Druze community in Syria. The members of the General Staff Forum conducted a field tour and held discussions with the commanders, following the Chief of the General Staff's directive to expand efforts in the sector.

The primary goal of the IDF remains the protection of the citizens of the State of Israel, and the IDF will defend the communities along the border. The IDF is committed to the security of the Druze community in Syria.

The IDF's military campaign in As-Suwayda, aimed at deterring Syrian forces from engaging with the Druze population, is a response to the escalating war-and-conflicts in the region, as part of broader politics and general-news. The ongoing strikes by the IDF are a strategic effort to maintain regional security and protect the Druze community from further conflict.
