2025 Major Season Wrap-up: Scheffler and McIlroy Shine

The 2025 Major season has come to a close, with a thrilling finale that saw Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy dominating the pga leaderboard.

Scottie Scheffler, the American golfer, concluded the season with an impressive 11-under total at The Open Championship. This victory, combined with his win at the PGA Championship, saw him take home two Major trophies this year. Remarkably, Scheffler averaged two-under-par in each Major round, showcasing his consistent form throughout the season.

On the other hand, Rory McIlroy, the European golfer, secured the most Major victories among his peers this year. He won the Masters Tournament, completing his career Grand Slam, but his 10-over total for the PGA Championship and the US Open negatively impacted his overall score for the Majors.

Matt Fitzpatrick and Tyrrell Hatton were the only other players to finish under par across all four Majors, with scores of 1-under and 1-under respectively.

The men's Major leaderboard for 2025 features a total of 15 players, all of whom are either American or European. Xander Schauffele finished the season in third place with a total score of 10-under, while Harris English claimed fifth place with a score of 5-under. Jon Rahm, a player from LIV Golf, ended the season in fourth place with a total score of 6-under.

It's worth noting that Xander Schauffele holds the record for the longest streak of consecutive Major cuts, with 15 in a row. Corey Conners made the cut in all four Majors this year but withdrew prior to the final round of the US Open, so his scores are not included in the final leaderboard.

As the Major season draws to a close, we look forward to seeing how these golfers perform in the upcoming tournaments and whether any new contenders will emerge to challenge their dominance.
