The Supreme Federal Court played host to the "Laws and Likes" event, a unique gathering aimed at bridging the gap between the Supreme Court and society through digital influencers. The event, which took place at the Supreme Court Palace in Brasilia-DF from August 13th to 14th, aimed to stimulate debates on polarization, freedom of expression, artificial intelligence, and combating misinformation.

During the event, Justice Alexandre de Moraes, the relator of the coup inquiry, had an impromptu chat with Mizael Silva, a comedian and digital influencer popularly known as "Lawyer for the Common Man." The meeting, which took place in the White Hall of the Supreme Court Palace, was part of the "Laws and Likes: The Role of the Judiciary and Digital Influence" event.

The conversation between the two was light-hearted, with Mizael Silva joking about Justice Moraes needing a lawyer and humorously mentioning issues such as Moraes’ barred entry into the United States under the Trump administration. Despite the comedic undertones, they also discussed serious topics like political polarization, freedom of speech, artificial intelligence, and combating misinformation.

Mizael Silva was dressed in a suit, tie, and had long hair, shaved on the sides and tied in a ponytail during the meeting. Justice Moraes complimented Silva's appearance during the meeting. Other digital influencers participating in the event included @historiasdeterapia, @jooj, @lailazaid, @luaxavier, @mizaelsilv, @nandogald, @naoinviabilize, @nathfinancas, @oyurimarcal, @pfranca, @profsaradovale, @sabrinafidalgoo, @umbipolar, and @vogalizandoahistoria, among others.

The second edition of the "Laws and Likes" event featured digital influencers from various niches and regions, such as @3palavrinhas, @afrocrente, @anaterra.oli, @antoniotabet, @beatrisbrantes, @betaboechat, @braidsrafa, @cecilia.dassi, and @frednicacio. The event was open to the public, with cell phones and cameras present during the meetings.

The "Laws and Likes" event is a novel initiative by the Supreme Court to engage with society and discuss contemporary challenges in Brazilian society and digital communication from a fresh perspective inside the judiciary’s symbolic space. The event was a success, fostering open discussions and bridging the gap between the judiciary and the digital influencers.
