In a recent turn of events, the Arbitration Court of Yakutia has ruled against game development company Fntastic in a lawsuit against local online publication Yakutia.Info. The lawsuit, which was filed over an article titled "Scandalous Yakutian game developers try to clean their reputation," was dismissed by Judge Valentina Tereshkina as unfounded.

The lawsuit, according to Vitaly Obedin, the lawyer representing Yakutia.Info, was an odd move by Fntastic. The company chose to focus on a less popular article, while other materials published by the outlet had garnered tens and hundreds of thousands of views.

The confrontation between Fntastic and Yakutia.Info stems from the negative sentiment towards mass consumer deception, a topic that was the focus of Fntastic's lawsuit. However, the release of a low-quality product like The Day Before, which had to be hastily removed from sale, appears to have significantly damaged Fntastic's reputation.

The editorial team of Yakutia.Info provided the court with evidence of official admissions by the company of mistakes made, facts of using third-party software, and numerous complaints from dissatisfied players accusing the company of dishonesty and deceiving the audience. The team was represented by journalist and lawyer Vitaly Obedin in the arbitration.

The negative tone of the publication alone does not indicate the dissemination of false or defamatory information. Journalists have the right to express their opinion on such events as fraud, disinformation, or violations of the law.

This is not the first time Fntastic has faced criticism. The company initially showed promise in game production, but stumbling on a major project caused a global scandal. The incomplete and raw release of The Day Before damaged the developer's reputation significantly.

The reason for filing the lawsuit might have been Fntastic's desire to restore its tarnished reputation, as suggested by Vitaly Obedin. The company, which recently moved from Singapore to Kazakhstan, may have seen the lawsuit as a means to create an appearance of protecting its good name.

Despite this setback, the confrontation between Fntastic and Yakutia.Info is not over, as a further appeal by the plaintiff is possible. The tags related to this case include "Vitaly Obedin", "Yakutia Arbitration Court", "Fntastic", "The Day Before", and potentially "Kazakhstan".

  1. The dismissal of Fntastic's lawsuit against Yakutia.Info by the Arbitration Court of Yakutia has highlighted the Company's policy-and-legislation approach, as they attempted to quash a less popular article criticizing their practices, while overlooking other controversial general-news pieces that garnered significant views.
  2. Although the lawsuit was dismissed as unfounded, the confrontation between Fntastic and Yakutia.Info is far from over, as the Company may appeal the decision, potentially involving politics and potential legislation changes in Kazakhstan, where Fntastic recently relocated.
